VOLUNTEERING
Montsalvat was founded and built on the generosity and hard work of volunteers. In our 90th year, Montsalvat is embarking on a range of projects to reinvigorate our buildings, our grounds, our community and our creative programs, to ensure that we survive and thrive for decades to come.
Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Please note, you must be 18 years or older and obtain a valid Volunteer Working with Children Check to volunteer at Montsalvat.
GALLERY ASSISTANT
With several different exhibition spaces, gallery assistants play an invaluable role in introducing visitors to our art exhibitions and assisting with installation and de-installation of exhibitions. This role provides volunteers with the opportunity to learn about each of our exhibitions, meet the artist/s and creatives, and to share their love of art with visitors to Montsalvat.
AMBASSADOR
An integral role in Montsalvat’s day-to-day operations, ambassadors are responsible for greeting and welcoming visitors, sharing information about our current art exhibitions and directing visitors to our studio artists and to the key highlighted of the site. Occasionally, ambassadors will also have the opportunity to assist at other public events.
GARDENING
Montsalvat sits on 12 acres of land and our magnificent grounds have been greatly enhanced by the work of our gardening volunteers working closely with Montsalvat’s Head Gardener. Some adopt a garden bed, while others take on general gardening tasks such as clipping edges, weeding, mulching and tending the cuttings in our glasshouse. Wednesday - Friday only.
