Katie Roberts is an artist with extensive life drawing and teaching experience; she majored in Drawing at RMIT under Godwin Bradbeer, where she completed her Masters in Fine Art in 2006. Since then she has undertaken a long-term project to map the Yarra River, it’s catchment and history, culminating in a major exhibition at Montsalvat in 2010. She started and ran Synergy Gallery, a community contemporary art space in Northcote in 2001, through which she gained extensive experience supporting and mentoring hundreds of artists over a ten year period. Much of her practice consists of large-scale drawings, although her work transcends the disciplines. Since 2011 Katie has taught a range of drawing and art classes, including a popular tutored life drawing class. Her teaching style is engaging and encouraging, balancing technical skills with freedom to experiment.
During these relaxing sessions Katie will provide guided facilitation and structure, and will be available for advice and tuition, tailored to both beginners and accomplished artists.
