‘there is no way to both stay and go’
– Clarissa Pinkola Estés, ‘Women who run with wolves’
Change is inevitable. As we go through our lives, whether it’s performing mundane daily tasks or getting through the most challenging of days, change is a constant.
We are always moving from one place to another, both in space and mind. We are pulled in different directions, confronted with the unexpected, or simply go round in circles, only to find ourselves at another place of beginning, a new passage.
This exhibition explores fragments of my life. Each image was created whilst in the moment, often as a means to get through challenging times. I explore themes around memory, dissociation, loss, longing, pain and the fragmented nature of the monkey mind.
