Studio artist at Montsalvat, Marc McBride is the illustrator of Emily Rodda's best selling Deltora Quest series, which has sold over eighteen million copies around the world and has become an Anime TV show.

He has illustrated more than two hundred book covers, ten picture books, countless magazines and has had work exhibited with the New York Society of Illustrators. He has won Aurealis Awards for the Deltora Quest series and World of Monsters, which he wrote and illustrated.

His new book series, written by Emily Rodda, is called The Glimme and was published by Scholastic Australia in October 2019.

This exhibition will include the original artwork from Deltora Quest as well as picture books Marc illustrated with Gary Crew and Isobelle Carmody. It will also include digital works from his new book The Glimme, the village from which was influenced by the buildings in Montsalvat.

Sometimes the process of making an illustrated book means sacrificing many pictures that don’t get used due to lack of pages or the story changing direction. Marc is very grateful to Montsalvat for allowing him to show some of these in this exhibition. It will include many paintings from his new digital style as well as more traditionally made paintings.
