CONCERT: Duo Kalen - Songs of the World


Duo Kalen present Songs of the World. Songs of the World features art songs, lieder, and chanson from France, Germany, Japan, Spain, South Africa and Australia.

Formed in 2006, Duo Kalen has been performing art songs and opera arias of the world. The name KALEN comes from NATSU=KA in Japanese and LEN combined together. KALEN also means SUMMER LOVE in Japanese. They produced recordings in 2014 and 2015, mainly featuring on Japanese art songs. NATSUKO comes from Japan and LEN is from South Africa. NATSUKO graduated from University of Melbourne and Conservatorium van Amsterdam, also performed in UK and USA. LEN completed post-graduate studies at the University of Cape Town and has also performed in the UK, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Taiwan.
