In the world of ceramics, flux is the powerful ingredient that lowers the melting point of silica that in the end makes the glassy surface on a pot. This exhibition is a display on how the glass on these ceramic pieces has been manipulated with various fluxes to create a diverse and incredible array of textures and surfaces. Potters are, in all reality, alchemist’s; never ceasing to stop testing the laws of chemistry in glaze and clay, immersed in an amazing world of flux.
