This exhibition of paintings is the result of Heja Jung’s winter artist residencies in Finland. Heja brings a nuanced Asian sensibility to her experiences in the frozen north, mapping the invisible landscapes of the heart onto the optical landscapes of the world. Many of these images are infused with a sense of the invisible, of silence and of space. Finland is a land of living myth, full of hidden, often mischievous spirits and gods. Heja offers a revelation of such presences, bearing witness to vast forests and skies, animated with an inscrutable sentience.
