Artist Statement
“Away I sailed without knowing how far,
Now, in the hustle-and-bustle, a sanctuary called home,
Home-felt, home-made, a memory comes to heal”
The idea of this exhibition originates from the influences of recent pandemics and aims to celebrate the theme of “family”, “sense of home, belonging and connection” from paintings of miscellaneous mundane subjects captured at home. The artworks presented in this exhibition are combinations of intimate still life paintings and portraits with nostalgic recollection of “home” --- a place that brings joy and peace.

“As an artist, I am interested in using my work as a visual expression for my thought process as an individual. Beyond the visual qualities, I am a believer in arts with great emotional and psychological depth and their story telling power to the intended audience. I hope to carry that belief into my day-to-day art practice."
