WARRANDYTE ARTISANS | Revealing Hidden Talent
This exhibition showcases selected curated artworks created in studios by artists who form the Warrandyte Artisans Inc.
These multi-talented artisans come together to reveal, on the public platform, an exposé of their extensive range of disciplines and the talents hidden behind studio doors. The exhibition consists of two- and three-dimensional artworks utilising ceramics, sculpture, painting, collage, papercut, installation, and photography.
The display harmoniously uses the unique wall divisions of The Barn Gallery, its powerful columns and encourages guests to look up into the beams. Artworks sited throughout the space are statuesque on plinths, suspended from above and on the floor.
Participating artists are: Wayne Rankin, Esther Schouten, Jane Annois, Julie Harmsworth, Ian Gedge, Denise Keele-bedford, Linda Macaulay, Micaela Bumpstead, Walter Magilton, Peta Harrington, Cherry Manders, Tori Swedosh, Jacinta Payne, Wil Bajada, Gary Upfield, Sarai Meyerink, Jabba, Debra Mawdsley, Diana Loftus-Hills, Kathy Fahey, Roma McLaughlin.
The main commonality of the group is their decision to live and create in the broader Warrandyte district. The styles, media and issues for each artist are diverse, but the environment significantly influences their artwork. Visitors have the opportunity to meet with individual artists who will be on site at various times during the exhibition.
