As an international concert pianist, Yasmin Rowe was the first prize winner at the Moray International Piano Competition (UK) and the EPTA UK Piano Competition (UK), as well Seven Oaks Young Musician of the Year Competition (UK) and the Antena 2 Competition (Portugal) She graduated with an International Artist Diploma from the Royal Northern College of Music.
Yasmin has been a frequent recipient of British music awards including Kirckman Concert Society (London), Tunnell Trust (London/Scotland), Worshipful Company of Musicians (London), The Keyboard Trust (UK), Peter Donohoe Award (Manchester), the Myra Hess Award from Help Musicians Trust and she was a City Music Foundation Artist, founded by the 685th Lord Mayor of London.
Her first CD was released in 2016 with British label Willowhayne Records, and was quickly picked up by British Airways for their in-flight entertainment system. It was praised by eminent pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet who said:
“After listening to this CD of Yasmin Rowe, it is refreshing to hear music played with conviction, love and authenticity. We can therefore enjoy the pure beauty of these masterpieces under her inspired fingers. Her playing calls for respect.”
Her second CD, “Y2” was released in 2017 worldwide with her cellist Yelian He – it too was quickly picked up again by British Airways.
Yasmin has appeared in many world class venues including Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Shanghai Concert Hall, Wuxi Grand Theatre, Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre Elisabeth Murdoch Hall and Primrose Potter Salon and Festivals such as the Edinburgh Fringe and Brighton Festival. Yasmin is active as soloist and chamber musician in Melbourne, with her cello piano duo- ‘Y-Squared’, her Saxophone trio- ‘Collide’, her piano trio ‘Rock Paper Scissors’ and her piano duo- ‘Duo88’.
