Summers End at Montsalvat

Montsalvat’s annual Summers End festival is set to delight visitors with a celebration of the end of Summer on Saturday February 27th.

Join us for an outdoor artisan market with food trucks and drinks set outdoors in the grounds of Montsalvat from 5pm - 8pm and a world-class performance at 8.30pm. Sit down outside and enjoy the atmosphere of a lively evening at Montsalvat with music and art to peruse or join The Grigoryan Brothers for the ticketed showpiece of the evening.

A Boy Called Sailboat

Returning to the Montsalvat grounds are The Grigoryan Brothers. This year they perform the live soundtrack to an outdoor screening of A Boy Called Sailboat.

Acclaimed guitarists Slava and Leonard Grigoryan have expanded their creative output by crafting and recording the soundtrack to the award-winning movie. The Latin-themed soundtrack is a key element to the movie and this live performance provides audiences with a unique opportunity to experience both the film and its soundtrack in all its beauty and excitement.

A Boy Called Sailboat is a heart-warming movie, written and developed by Melbourne-based creative team Cameron Nugent and Andrew Curry, filmed in New Mexico, and starring Academy Award® winning actor J.K Simmons, Noel G, Elizabeth De Razzo, Jake Busey, Lew Temple and Julian Atocani Sanchez in the title role.

Sailboat brings love and hope to a family who have forged a simple but proud life in the drought-ridden Deep South. One afternoon he brings home a “little guitar”. From this moment, Sailboat and his little guitar are inseparable, and when his ill grandmother requests he write a song for her, Sailboat meanders through adversity to deliver the unimaginable – the greatest song ever written.
