Join us for a musical celebration of the best of Italian vocal repertoire by Spinto Soprano Michelle Francis Cook with musical stylings and accompaniment by Roxanne Viggiano.
The Bella Italia program has received critical acclaim across Europe and includes classics from Verdi and Puccini, well known traditional Neapolitan Songs, Dalla, Einaudi and contemporary favourites made famous by Three Tenors and Andrea Bocelli.
The program begins with early Baroque pieces and progresses through the Classical, Romantic eras to the present.
Michelle, a multi award winning Italian/Australian performer, has recently returned from 15 years living in Spain and performing as soloist in many major opera houses in Spain and Italy and opposite such opera greats such as Placido Domingo. These events include the Puccini opera festival near Florence, Gran Teatro deLiceu in Barcelona and also appearances on Spanish television.
Roxanne is a seasoned pianist and composer. She played for the Melbourne season of CATS, Marcia Hines, The Choir of Hard Knocks, Gilbert and Sullivan Society, various bands, Sydney Cabaret Conspiracy and Melbourne Fringe musical theatre including the Last Laugh.
