ARTIST STATEMENT - Melisa Savickas

“My intense examinations of plant structures, using both macro and ultra-macro photography reveal previously unnoticed details of Australian botanical forms. The resulting artworks are a mix of paintings based on images I have taken and natural as well as manipulated photographic artworks, resulting from these studies. It is my intention to bring new perspectives to the viewer and showcase the beauty of our native plants through my work. “
