Eddie is a long-time and still-performing musician/singer. As a painter, Eddie finds that art is like music – it can be sharp and defined or loose and liquid – Eddie likes the latter. When he paints he is not playing a single-note solo (as a trumpeter or a violinist might) - he is chording a melody using a collection of notes or strokes to create a total image of what Eddie sees. As a figurative painter who likes to add abstraction to reality – the collective notes and strokes helps Eddie to do this. The figuration is what the eye sees, the abstraction what the mind sees. For Eddie joining eye and mind assist the creation of story and emotion which is what he wants his images to be.
