With a career spanning over 50 years, Dr Tony Gould has embraced numerous musical styles, captivating audiences with his unparalleled artistry. Gould has a PhD from Latrobe University, a Master of Arts from Monash University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Melbourne. Career highlights include numerous performance and recording projects, and Australia's most prestigious award for music, the 'Don Banks Award' from the Australia Council of the Arts in 2009. In 2008 he was awarded an Order of Australia (AM).

In 2005 Tony left his position as Head (Dean) of and Associate Professor at the School of Music, Victorian College of the Arts, to pursue his performance and composition career.

Tony Gould has performed with countless Australian an international artists including Clark Terry, Mark Murphy, Ernestine Anderson, Ronnie Scott, David Jones, Don Burrows, John Sangster, Graeme Lyall, John Hoffman and Bobby Shew. He has appeared with orchestras and ensembles including Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and supported artists and groups such as Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson, Sarah Vaughan, Jean Luc Ponty, Ray Brown, and the Art Ensemble of Chicago.

Tony Gould has appeared on numerous commercially released CDs, most recently on the Gould Burke Quartet's album Live Again! (Jazzhead 2019).

Recent commissions include works for the Plexus Ensemble, the Zephyr Quartet and the Firebird Trio.

David Jones is often described as being one of the most innovative and musical drummers in the world. His mesmerising drum solos are dramatic, humorous, surprising and powerful.

David’s brilliant career of over 40 years, spans all types of music, playing with some of the greatest musicians in every style. From John Farnham to James Morrison, Dragon to Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Don McLean to John Denver, Kate Miller-Heidke to Tommy Emmanuel, from WDR Big Band to John Williams, Crossfire and the legendary Pyramid.

He is a frequent guest artist and soloist with major Orchestras. He’s first call drummer for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic and Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa in Japan.

Jazz double-bassist Ben Robertson graduated with distinction from the Improvisation stream of the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia 1987 where he was awarded both the Gwen Nesbitt scholarship and the Mensa award for musical excellence. There he developed a reputation for musical excellence and melodic inventiveness leading to many and varied professional opportunities as a performer.

Ben has extensive experience in a wide variety of musical settings, with recording studio credits of over 60 jazz and commercial CD releases. He is regularly featured in Australian film scores, along with television appearances and touring commitments with local and international artists. He is a harmonic and listening musician; a great asset to any ensemble both as an improvising soloist and arranger.
