Eliza Shephard and Alexander Meagher are a Melbourne-based flute and percussion duo focused on presenting unique and creative musical experiences. Graduates of the Australian National Academy of Music, Alexander and Eliza have been working together since 2018, performing at places such as the National Gallery of Victoria and the Abbotsford Convent. They are both recipients of a City of Yarra STIMULATE Arts Grant and the ANAM Director’s Award, given to outstanding musicians who showed versatility, persistence and initiative during their training.
Wattleseed Ensemble brings three of Australia’s most exciting young performers together, combining their expertise on period instruments with wide-ranging repertoire and a love of storytelling through music.
On the baroque violin is Natalia Harvey, principal second violin with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, and known for her passion for chamber music and her sensitive virtuosity. Katie Yap is the violist and artistic director – as well as playing with Australia’s top ensembles, her creative programming has seen her in demand as a curator of concerts and the 3MBS festival Music, She Wrote. On cello is Anna Pokorny, who holds any group she plays with together with beautifully shaped bass lines, from the Australian Chamber Orchestra to Wilma Smith’s Wilma and Friends ensembles.
