Exhibition: Clare Dwyer - HapHazard

HapHazard

The term ‘Haphazard’ means lacking any obvious principle of organization; random; unsystematic and disorganized. This perfectly reflects the varied collection of artworks I have been working on over the past two years which are quite disparate in nature. The exhibition is made up of a body of Woven artworks which have fundamentally incongruent elements – they are the culmination of a clash of experimental ideas and artistic discovery which push the boundaries of the traditional Weaving Craft and which I hope challenges and surprises the viewer at every turn.

Artist Biography

Clare Dwyer is a local Fibre artist working primarily with a variety of repurposed Fibres and Textiles: recycled and found objects to push the boundaries of the traditional Weaving Craft to create unique woven wall hangings and sculptural pieces. Clare often adds layers of texture and injects bold colour and natural elements to add interest and warmth to each piece.
